The Story of Bani Thani

She is known as India's Mona Lisa. But unlike Da Vinci's enigmatic subject, Bani Thani's identity is not a mystery — it is a legend.

The story goes that in the court of Kishangarh, a poet-king named Sawant Singh fell in love with a singer named Bani Thani. Their love became the subject of paintings so beautiful that they defined an entire school of art — the Kishangarh style, known for its elongated faces, lotus-shaped eyes, and impossibly graceful figures.

These are not shirts. They are portable galleries. Walking exhibitions. Stories you wear close to your chest — literally.

This collection is our homage to that love story and the art it inspired.

Each hand-painted pocket carries elements of the Kishangarh aesthetic — the distinctive profile, the ornamental detail, the sense of refined elegance that turned a regional court's paintings into a national treasure.

Bani Thani was the adorned one. And now, through Kissa, her story adorns you.
