Ritika Chaudhary grew up surrounded by the living art traditions of Rajasthan. Where others saw tourist souvenirs, she saw a visual language that had been speaking for centuries — and deserved to be heard by new audiences.
Her approach to folk art is unapologetically contemporary. She studies the traditional forms — the iconography, the color palettes, the symbolic vocabulary — and then asks: how would this story be told today?
For the Swagata and Anika collections, Ritika drew from her deep knowledge of Rajasthani court painting traditions and Central Indian tribal art, creating pocket illustrations that feel both timeless and startlingly modern.
“Folk art is not old art. It is the art of the folk — the people. And people are always contemporary.”
